The focus of the National Scouting Museum is to provide an exciting educational
experience for youth of all ages that builds character, trains in the responsibilities
of citizenship, and develops personal fitness.

Lesson Choices
Elementary
- Beginner
- Decision Making demonstrates how to identify good
and bad choices in order to make good ones.
- Service demonstrates that helping others has rewards.
- Prepared for Today demonstrates how to recognize
and avoid potentially dangerous situations.
- Exhibiting Responsible Citizenship teaches how the
president of the United States is elected, his duties, and
about the White House.
- Intermediate
- Understanding People With Special Needs teaches
the "Signing Alphabet."
- Emergency Preparedness teaches basics of safety
and first aid.
- Conservation demonstrates the importance of water
protection and conservation.
- Being Responsible explains why leadership and
having a leader are important.
- Advanced
- Citizenship teaches different responsibilities of
citizens.
- What Is Freedom? explains the meaning of freedom
through a story.
- Fire Safety explains the importance of fire hydrants
and holiday safety issues.
- Never Give Up builds positive work ethics.
Middle School
- Beginner
- Money Management explains saving money and understanding
the banking system.
- Trust Me teaches about building others' trust in you by
always keeping your word.
- Maps and Symbols develops map-reading skills.
- Intermediate
- Around the Campfire demonstrates how to build a campfire.
- Map Reading teaches basic map-reading skills.
- LFL CD helps students understand the importance of school
through role models and mentors.
- Advanced
- The Adventure of Collectionexplores collection and
preservation of artifacts.
- Art of Illustration demonstrates illustration techniques
based on Norman Rockwell.
- Storycrafting teaches the art of storycrafting.
High School
- Storycrafting teaches the art of storycrafting.

Planning Your Visit
Two-week advance notice is required. Please allow at least two hours for
your visit.
- School group admission is $6 per child.
- Two adults are admitted free with each group of 30 or fewer.
- Bus drivers are welcome at no cost!
Call 800-303-3047 to make your reservation. When calling to book
your field trip, provide us the following information:
- Date of visit
- Length of visit
- Preferred lesson
- Size of your group
- Grade level or ages
- Any information concerning students with special needs
After you make your reservation, we will mail you a packet that includes your
field trip schedule, a detailed lesson plan, and a list of things you'll need to
know in preparation for your visit.
